Events return to Denver after COVID-19
Everyone knows that events have been non-existent the past year due to COVID-19. Thankfully, events are now returning to Denver, and so is event photography. We are able to host COVID safe events and capture all of the fun again. Here is some event photography from the Town Center at Aurora. They hosted free monthly cultural events highlighting different continents around the world. Aurora has a very diverse community, and many people are from Central America, Africa, South America, and Asia. The Town Center at Aurora had a “Celebration of Cultures” highlighting a different continent every month with delicious cuisine from local Aurora restaurants, live music and painting, and local vendors.
The fun part was not only seeing how diverse the performances were, but how diverse the attendees of the events were. There were so many families that were there with different ethnicities from around the world. It really showed how we can bring everyone together from unique cultures and celebrate each other.
Photographing events after COVID-19 is a different experience. It is fun being able to capture the liveliness again, but also stressful thinking about COVID precautions the whole time. These events were hosted in early 2021 when the vaccination rate in Colorado was not as high. Thankfully COVID infection rates have gone down and most of the state has opened up. Events and event photography in Denver has now picked up in the summer of 2021. Things are slowly going back to a new normal.
