  1. look at where you use the most photography in your business

Do you use photos on your website, social media posts, flyers or digital advertising? Do you have annual reports, newsletters or strategic plans? These can all be updated with photos from your event. Look at the types of photos that are generally used in your business and create a shot list around those. That way you will get the most use out of your event photography. You don’t want 100 photos of the food if you will never use them.

2. include all of the speakers at your event

This is a great way to thank the speakers at your event and to have them share photos of them speaking and interacting with guests. You can also share these photos on your social media and newsletter. Talk about how the speaker is involved with your business or organization. It’s a win for both you and the speaker, and builds a deeper connection.

3. get photos of your team

Yes it’s always great to photograph attendees of the event, but don’t forgot to add your team photos to the shot list. These are great to put on your about page or careers page on your website. You can also post to LinkedIn to show your team culture. If you have an onboarding packet, you can add some photos there too.

4. Don’t forget your sponsors

Sponsors are so important for any type of event. Don’t forget to include them on the shot list. You can photograph attendees interacting with the sponsors product or activations. You can also get the people who have come to work the sponsor booths. Sharing these photos with them after the event is a great thank you gesture. The sponsors can use them for their own marketing efforts.

5. include a headshot station for your attendees

A lot of people need updated headshots. Offering a headshot station for your attendees is an easy way for them to get a new headshot. This is usually set up in a separate room at your event with a backdrop and lights. The photos are then sent directly to the attendee.
